Games and Activities
The cottage has been designed with families in mind. We continue to add new activities and games. Here is a sample:
- Great swimming and playing in the sand for families
- Spend time reading, on the dock in the sun, or in one of the many shady nooks under the huge hardwoods, on the deck etc.
- Paddle boat around the lake
- Set out in the canoe, exploring Bay Lake
- Go fishing in the morning or evening for Pickerel (Bass, Perch and Pike are easier to catch anytime of the day)
- Play horse shoes
- Play one of our board games from our collection
- Play pool
- Play foosball
- Play ping pong
- Throw a frisbee, football, baseball etc. on the lawns
- Take a hike through the nearby forests. You're sure to see and hear many species of birds, and at dusk and dawn you may see deer on the property.
- Have a campfire near the lake

Local Attractions and Activities
● Algonquin Provincial Park (less than an hour from the Cottage) can be
accessed from Hwy 60, or from two access points on the west side of the park.
● Arrowhead Provincial Park (approx 15 minutes from Cottage) has hiking
trails and a sand beach. In the winter you can go tubing, cross country skiing,
skating and snowshoeing.
● Downtown Huntsville (approx 25 minutes from Cottage). The beautiful
downtown in famous for its interesting shops and restaurants. It's a nice place to
spend some time sightseeing and at the same time stock up on supplies and
souvenirs.
● Brooks Falls (approx 25 minutes from Cottage). A picturesque location with
walking paths, picnic areas and washroom facilities. Follow Hwy 592 to Deer
Lake Road, then turn right on Deer Lake road and follow for about 2.8 km – the
park is on the left.
● Hiking Trail (approx 5 minutes from Cottage). You can connect to a vast
network of trails at Rochester Lake Road. The trails are called the Park-to-Park
multi-use trail system. A trail crosses Rochester lake road just south of the
intersection with Halls Road / Kearney Road (see map below).
