IMPORTANT RULES AND GUIDELINES
- The cottage is on a septic system. This system cannot handle sanitary napkins, tampons, paper towels etc. Please flush only what the septic system was designed for (i.e. #1 and #2 !!!), and toilet paper. Also, please avoid dumping grease or any chemicals down the drains. It only takes one sanitary napkin to jamb an impeller on the pump, which would result in a major expense and inconvenience (digging up septic system during vacation + deduction from damage deposit = no fun). Thanks very much for sharing this information with all guests!
- Garbage should be stored, temporarily, in the animal proof bin located near the shed. Please keep the door shut, especially at night, or you will attract unwanted forest visitors. Please remove any garbage by the end of your rental period.
- Please do not feed any wildlife including ducks or geese.
- Please do not burn any wood found in the forest. This includes dead branches, dead trees or forest ground litter.
- Fire permits are no longer needed for campfires. Keep fires small and monitor fires at all times. Please have fires in the fire pit only. Check the Perry Township “fire rating” website to ensure that there is not a fire ban before starting a fire.
- Propane is purchased regularly and stored in the shed by the driveway. If one container becomes empty, the others should be in the shed. If they are all empty (hopefully this will not happen), you can exchange tanks in Novar (10 minute drive) at the gas station outside the Foodland.
